Introduction:

This here is the second helper module for my Oberheim SEM clone project, a passive 1:4 signal distributor, partially with attenuator. This module became necessary to provide the SEM internal control and signal voltage distribution method as external function, which is needed by SEM sub functions exposed as dedicated modules to be able to work as the original SEM.

The attenuators don't exist in an original SEM though. I borrowed this idea of a generic function from the Moog Modular concept, which provides a dedicated Attenuator module (see Moog System 55 Clone - Attenuator Module) - and this is definitely an advantage of a modular concept: This manipulation of inter-functional signal distribution can't be done by an original SEM...

The Attenuator Distributor:

  • 3 distributors 1:4 with attenuator:
The input voltage is attenuated by a
    linear potentiometer wired as voltage
divider and provided at the four
    corresponding output jacks.
  • Circuit: Moog System 55 Clone - Attenuator circuit
  • 4 distributors 1:3:
Each of the four jack bushes are
shorted with all others of that group,
so each can be used as input to be
provided at the others as output.
  • Circuit: Moog System 55 Clone - Multiple circuit
